And since it is exactly a month since my last post, I can happily say hello!!!

How goes it!!!

How the hell has it been a month already? I haven't even done anything!!! Do you ever get that? where like a long period of time goes by and you look back and you're like "Crap, nothing came out of that long period of time." Well you can't anymore, because I've now copyrighted it. Patent pending. Sorry.

How am I ever gonna catch up on everything and keep this post from becoming biblical in length. I could do interpretive dance...but that's kinda hard to show off in the printed word, so let me try just going through it.

The Dark Knight - Totally amazing, best movie ever? Maybe. Everyone has to see it, and it better win best picture. Everyone says "Oh Heath Ledger needs to win an award" but they've been saying that ever since he died, which seems kinda wrong to me. It'll be a travesty if he doesn't win, and a publicity stunt if he does. Either way, The Dark Knight winning best picture will be the real gauge on whether or not the Oscars are actually willing to respect a comic book movie.

E3 - Came and went. Nothing cool was announced, and not a whole lot cool was shown...except Fallout 3. That game looks pretty incredible. You can build teddy bear launchers, and kill people with them. Gruesomely. What mroe convincing do you need from a game before you're willing to buy it? Oh, and Mirror's Edge looks different. It's like a first person parcour simulator, which totally tries to make you feel like you really are a hot asian chick jumping across rooftops. A protagonist wasted on a game where you'll rarely ever actually get to see her hot body...since you are in fact...her.

Comic Con - also came and went. Not a whole lot was announced, but people apparently went pretty gaga over Watchmen, so we have that to look forward to this christmas.

Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog - Amazing, perfect Joss Whedon. I loved every second of it, and the ending was shocking and awesome. Been singing the songs all the time, and even downloaded it off Itunes (Even in their shitastic format that you can't do anything with. If you missed it, you totally need to catch up. But unless you're an apple fan, then I advise against getting it off Itunes, because you can only watch it on Apple programs and devices! So annoying! I hate Apple. But you still need to see it...wait a bit, it'll come on DVD. Oh and Joss, my idol and all around awesome guy, announced there will be more Dr Horrible to come. YES!!!

I've signed up for school. Looks like I'll be double majoring in both English and Drama. Yay. Should be some good times.

There's a couple sweet trailers that you have to see if you haven't...and you should probably see again even if you have. First is the Max Payne trailer. My god, that trailer looks so stylized and sweet, I want it. I want it now.

But I can't get TOO excited over Max Payne...since a Harry Potter trailer just came out like 6 hours ago. FIND IT! WATCH IT! LOVE IT! WATCH IT AGAIN! SHIVER!

Aww, are you cold? Anyway, I won't give you links, cause I'm lazy and want to go to bed, but I will start updating more often, or something. And I'm thinking of doing some video stuff...I just...turns out I don't have the firewire cable necessary...so I gotta get one of those. And I'm broke. Yup, no job for me. I need money...fast.

Anyway...toodles!

I come back from the fantasy, and now live once more in harsh reality.

Sorry I didn't post this last night. I started writing it, and then got hit with a major case of Jet Lag. So I'm going to bed at 8 and waking up at 6. Man, I haven't done that since I was 7.

So yeah, that's right, I'm back from my cruise, and it's time I spilled all the juicy tidbits. You should feel so lucky.

Generally the cruise went very well. I was quite popular on the ship, had a good hundred people know me by name, including all the "Cruise Director's Staff" AKA the people who would run all the events. I took part in karaoke contests, and learned ballroom dancing, and line dancing, and I had lots of fun. I also got to know all the girls my age on that ship. But more on them later.

I started out in Coopenhagen, where we hung out for 3 days. Not much to see there, besides an abundance of Burger Kings and 7/11s. Oh, and apparently H&M is the largest clothing retailer in the world. I saw one in every country I went to. The Hotel was nice there, and they had free beer. Woot. Oh, and Hans Christian Anderson lived there for many years. For those who don't know, he's famous for writing a lot of famous fairy tales including The Little Mermaid. Apparently writing a few short stories is enough to make you the leading icon of Denmark, as their biggest tourist attraction was in fact a small statue of a little mermaid, in his honor.

It was nice to get on the ship. The ship was huge, had 3,180 passengers, or something like that. The ship had two pools and a ton of attractions, though it had a pathetic Library. It didn't take long for me to know the ship like the back of my hand. I tried to avoid the Elevators best I could cause they were ridiculously slow. That meant running up sometimes 10 flights of stairs, often more than once in a short period of time. I'm sure I've become much more in shape now, than when I left.

Which is amazing, as the food on the boat was delicious and limitless. Needless to say, I ate enough to make the entire cruise worth the money we spent. You could get food at any time on the ship, Though the dining hall was only open at strict times. But most of the times I'd rather eat at the buffet, because the dining hall was all high class weird names and tiny portions. You know when you see on TV someone orders something with a big fancy name, and a huge plate comes, and there's just a weird colorful tiny thing in the center and the plate just looks totally empty and lame. Yup, it was one of those restaurants. Luckily, it was all you can eat, so you could order ten of them, and be good. Also the ice cream cost money all over the ship, except in the dining hall, so sometimes I'd eat lunch in the buffet, then go down to the dining hall, get seated and all that, and just be like "Yes, I'd like a chocolate sundae with extra whipped cream please."

One problem I had with the ship was that there didn't seem like a lot of stuff to do for people between the age of 18 and 21. The ship used US laws when conveniant, so I couldn't drink or gamble, god damn it, and I could hang out in the cool teens zone anymore cause I'm not longer a teen. So as I said I spent most of my time going to every on ship event they had, including every trivia game and comedian.

The places we went to were vaguely interesting but the things we visited there were not. I swear, I saw like 50 churches and palaces over those 10 days, because apparently those are what showcase the culture of the people. Which a complete and utter lie, it showcases the culture of .1 percent of the people. I swear, it's like my parents could careless about the actual country, all they care about is taking pictures of shiny things. It drove me crazy. And they wonder why I don't like touring. The most fun I had was the times where they'd go off and do their thing, and I'd go off with my Uncle George to do other things. If you know me, I might have mentioned my Uncle before but lets just say he's the cool one. When we go out exploring, we do just that, explore. We investigated a fortified castle, we survived the busy streets of Oslo, got caught up in a marching parade through the market district, and walked up to the door of the Canadian embassy. Turns out if you're being chased by local police and in need of sanctuary, you have to take an elevator up the side of an office building to the fourth floor between 8 and 12 in the morning. Go figure.

Most of the palaces and churches I saw were in St Petersburg, Russia. It's terrible to see such a low income city have such opulance and wasted wealth. Just sad.

Of all the places I went to, almost all of them seemed stuck in the past, except for Gdynia and Gdansk, Poland. Turns out Poland has recently joined the European union and is working on readying it's people for a change of currency into Euros. Their economy has been in the dumps for quite a while, especially after getting stepped on during World War 2, but the guide showed us tons of proof of how they've rebuilt, and the government has put a lot of effort into improving Poland and readying it for the future. I was really impressed, and of all the places we visited, Poland was the only one that actually seemed like a first world country. They were the only country that was looking ahead into the future, instead of being stuck in the past. So Kudos to Poland, and no Kudos to Denmark, Russia, Swedan, and Norway. Well I guess Norway wasn't so bad, but I didn't actually take a tour, that was the country where I just explored with my uncle. I'll admit, they had a computer store that sold something called a Clone-a-Willy. Apparently it's a make your own dildo kit. And who wouldn't want one of those? It was 60 bucks with the conversion, if I remember correct.

I gotta give Kudos to some of the fun people I met. First Kudos goes out to Kristen, one of the Cruise Director's Staff. We shared a nice long talk one day when no one showed up to one of the events she was hosting. Turns out working on a cruise ship could be fun, if you don't mind never having a day off. She was fun, and cool, and gave me a bottle of Champeigne for winning a bizzare gun dueling game. She knew I was underage, and whispered in my ear "If anyone asks, just say you're 21." I still have the champeigne too, I'm gonna save it for a special occasion.

My next Kudos goes out to Jennifer, and Mimi, and their family (And their family's friends). They were a part of this huge Asian family (and friends) that decided to go on a big cruise together. I swear I think there was like 30 of them who were all connected to each other in some way or another. They were from California though, so like...yeah. American Asians. Jennifer was 21, and Mimi was 15, but looked older. They all were really nice and accepted me into their group on a number of occasions. In fact, out of everyone I met, Jennifer is the only one who took down my full name so she could add me to Facebook. Everyone else I'll never hear from again probably.

I met another girl named Madison who was pretty, but totally anti-social and seemed to hate me. Can't imagine why, but I met Jennifer through her (We all bumped into each other in the hall one day), so that led to that. No Kudos to Madison, she ended up not being a cool cookie.

My next Kudos goes out to Marlaina. She wasn't Asian, but she came from California with her huge ass family of like...also 30ish people. They had kinda a latino feel to them...well some of them did. I think Her dad divorced someone, and married a white woman, and they both had huge families, and the two families came together to create one big tossed salad of a family. But they were all warm and accepting, and really nice people. Met them through Karaoke, and that's important because Marlaina is the best Singer I ever had the pleasure of talking to. Her voice was just huge, and perfect, and amazing, and she was drop dead gorgeous. I swear, she was like a Broadway star. I almost never saw her, except when she was surrounded by her family, almost as if she never went anywhere by herself. And every time I saw her she had the most amazing looking hair, and dress. Like she always looked like she'd stepped out from a magazine or something. Just absolutely stunning. I don't think she'd leave her room in the morning unless she looked perfect, I'm sure she puts tons of effort into looking that good, so I'd like to emphasize that the hard work more than paid off. My god.

But anyway, she sung All That Jazz, and did a better job than Renee Zelwegger, or whoever sung that song. She was just amazing. Turns out she's going to college for Musical Theatre, and I have no doubt she'll be famous some day. And when she is, I'll look her up and be all like "Remember be...from that cruise that one time." But yeah, her family totally accepted me, and always wanted me to sit with them and stuff (Though I rarely did, cause I was so popular I often had to split my time between people), they were just all so nice and welcoming. And they had this little 6 year old girl who seemed so shy, but seemed to like me or something. She kept giving me these cute little looks, and whispering into peoples ears to ask me if I'd sit with them and stuff, I dunno, it was really funny, I thought she was cute. You know, in a non-creepy way, you damn perverts. But man, Marlaina...wow what a woman. Wish i'd gotten to know her better. But w/e. Her father was really nice, had a lot of nice conversations with him. He was actually the first one who talked to me. But yeah, All in all just a warm accepting family. The kinda family you'd want to surround yourself with. So I don't really blame Marlaina at all.

Um, who else. Oh I met a cute British girl who was 19 on my second to last day. Don't remember her name, but she was really nice, and really cute. Had nice freckles. We played some bascketball together (yup the ship at a basketball court) and did some trivia, but I'll never see her again, and never really got to know her. It's too bad, If I'd met her early in the cruise, we probably could have gotten closer.

So those are just some of the many people I met on the cruise. I had a lot of fun, and even participated in a Dancing with the stars style ball, where I did the swing with an older woman who's husband didn't like dancing. I lived in fear that night, I'll tell you, but it was fun. We didn't win, but it was fun. All in all, I'd love to go on another cruise...just next time I know betetr than to tour with my parents. Total yawn fests.

So anyway, I'll post again tomorrow, to discuss all the things I missed while away, oh and I'll post some pictures at some point I guess. Don't expect much though, I don't play tourist very well. Never really understood the allure of taking pictures of shiny stuff. But I have at least a couple of cool pics, like one of the clone-a-willy poster.

Kickin it in Oakville

I've moved back to my hometown, where I've been kickin it the past couple days. Absolutely nothing. Lets start with a story.

One lonely night, I was sitting back, relaxing, when suddenly BOOM, the power goes out. It's 11:00 at night, I just finished playing Gears with Bilal, and everything just goes pitch black. This was particularly bad because I still needed to take my rent out for tomorrow, and I had to do it before midnight, because I can only take out 200 a day. And the power outtage killed the money thing closest to me. So I decided to go for a walk all the way to the mall.

That was interesting considering none of the streetlights worked for most the way there (The blackout stretched out right up to, but didn't include, the mall) You think people would know that when stop lights don't work, you treat it as a four way stop. Yet I saw complete retards on the road who apparently think no lights means they can just drive right through, even though there's somebody else with the right of way. I seriously saw a guy drive right through, and almost hit a line of cars going perpindicular. How stupid are people?

But anyway, I got my money, I got a Frosty, and I found this weird cat. And by weird I mean cute. She was all small and kitten like, and all alone and it wasd so sad. She started following me, and seriously followed me for like 20 minutes, (I picked her up when crossing the street, cause I didn't want her to get hurt). It was pretty obvious the cat was abandoned, though she was clean, and cute and awesome. I named her Miley, and she was a very curious cat. (Suddenly I can't get Jellicle songs for Jellicle cats out of my head). Anyway, I was seriously thinking of adopting her...even though I doubt I'd be able to take care of her very well. SO it's probably good I bumped into a couple who claimed to have always wanted a cat. I gave it over to them, so hopefully Miley will have a happy life.

Anyway, I got home and the power was back, and I continued watching Two and a Half Men, and it was a good night.

Anyway, changing topic, I was watching Ellen this morning (An older ep though), and Journey was debuting their new Singer. Apparently they found him on Youtube, and he's from the Philippines. It was so crazy! He had a sweet voice, and he was so Asian. How crazy is that? They saw a youtube video of an asian guy doing karaoke, as they like to do, and recruited him into their band. And he's good. It's sweet. Anyway, gotta go. I've got writing to do.

Script teaser

Here's a teaser of the first draft of the first act of my script. hoep you enjoy:

The Bartender places a shot glass filled with something in front of Harbet. This is his beer. There is a moment as Harbet sizes down his drink before he grabs it and drains it in a gulp. His face twists in a struggle to get it down. Finally he slams the shot glass on the bar, as Dez watches in shock.

BARTENDER

Careful. On it, a REPORTER is declaring a breaking news. She’s on the observatory of some ship, and behind her out a large window is a planet, a busy station, and a large ship that can only be the Humanity’s Hope, surrounded by a ton of other ships.

HARBET

What’s going on?

The bartender looks up at the screen at what could only be the first time that night.

REPORTER

...just jumped into the Yantaris system minutes ago. We have been unable to contact the people on board, if there are any, and the Rexter government has sent out a general warning forbiddening us from approaching closer than a hundred miles of the mysterious cruiser. We have ship analyst and technical correspondent Gart here for more details.

The screen changes to GART, a man with thick glasses.

GART

This ship is of no design that I am familiar with, nor is it featured in the R.R.A.P. ship database. I’d like to bring attention to the clear title of the ship, as seen on the side of the cruiser.

The display switches to a view of the side of the cruiser, where the words Humanity’s Hope are clearly seen. Harbet flashes a memory of those words scribbled many times in Charon’s notes.

GART

This is of course a reference to the old tale of the lost human ship that brought us to this galaxy.

REPORTER

So really this could only mean one of two things. Either the Rexter government has been lying to us, or else this is all an elaborate hoax.

GART

There is evidence to support both sides of that argument. On one side, it seems quite...convieniant and coincidental that this old cruiser which has been lost for thousands of years, finally decided to resurface in a populated system such as this, totally of it’s own control, without any signs of an ulterior motive. On the other hand, if this is a hoax it is a very expensive one. Too expensive for any one person, or group of people, or even most planetary governments.

Harbet has seen enough. Getting up from the bar, he stumbles excitedly over to the table sitting Scott and Dez, and sits down. The Bartender notices he didn’t drink his second shot, and smiles.

DEZ

I’m happy you changed your mind captain.

Harbet stares at the third person at the table, until the man leaves. He then turns to his two crew, and gestures to the display.

HARBET

See that?

They look over to the display.

SCOTT

Uh huh...

HARBET

We need to get on that ship.

SCOTT

We?

So did you like it? First I saw a midnight showing of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, it is very weird, but in a good way. I really like the movie, though that he survived being nuked seemed a little silly.

When I got home, around 4 in the morning I found a copy of GTA IV waiting for me on my bed (Having just recieved it that day). Breaking it open, even though I know I should have gone to sleep, I proceeded to play it, and play it, and play it. It is quite an amazing game, though there admittedly isn't enough stuff to do in multiplayer.

Here's some pictures!

Here's me with the Box.

Here's me with the CD!

Lets get my game on!

The Empire State Building!
My Friend on the Empire State Building! Terribly sorry 'bout all that, I've been busy. Really, I have.

I moved into a new house. It was a major fixer upper, but it finally feels like home. I have a tour of it here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5617372516940658767. I made it for my mom for mothers day. It might not work anymore though...right now it says it's unavailable. I dunno. W/e. You can take my word for it, it's sweet.

I also have digital cable now, which has been the bane of my writing career. So many channels not enough time, how can I possibly do my writing. My worst enemy is procrastination and it's really messing me up now. My script is only 15 pages in, and it's due really soon now. Theres a late due date of June 16th, so I guess I'll have to go for that one. STill, I have to write faster. Much faster.

Lots of movies lately. Iron Man was amazing, and everyone must see it. Very Funny. Also saw Prince Caspian, which was good, but not as fun as the first one. More mature and intense though...it just felt like it was missing somethign. Still, you should see it. Finally I'm going to see Indiana Jones tonight at Midnight. I tried to catch up on the previous 3, but I never found the time, and now is too late. Dammit Bilal and his Gears of War.

I DID just get GTA IV...in the mail...just now...so I haven't played it yet. I imagine when I finish seeing Indy, I'll come back here and play GTA 4 for the rest of the night. Sleep is overrated.

The script I'm working on is a sci-fi epic it's a stand alone story, so I'm hoping it'll be a totally awesome hit. But we'll see. If you want to help, I will need all the feedback I can get so just ask! Please! Once I finish the first Act (Around 30 pages) I'm gonna start sending it around to everyone I can. So act fast, for your chance to win.

I'll try to blog more often, sorry if anyone's been reading this to have kept you waiting :p

I'll also try adding some more stuff to my site at some point.

A screenwriting contest!!!

Sorry it's been so long since I posted. I've been busy with schoolwork and all that fun stuff. Also, you know, nobody actually reads this blog. But hey, it's cool. If there is anyone out there, and you want to comment, you don't have to login to anything to do it, just when you go to comment, choose the option just above anonymous. It should say something like name/website or something like that. Then all you have to give is your name and you're good to go.

I posted a new episode of The Aldonn Chronicles. I wasn't planning to write anymore, but my teacher allowed us to write whatever we wanted last week, so I decided to write the next ep. I'd already had it planned out, so it was the easiest thing to do.

I found out about a really cool Screenwriting contest. You submit your screenplay (for 50 dollars...yikes) and people from the industry read it, and choose the top 13. The top three win serious money, and a trip to LA to talk to dudes from the industry, while the 10 runners up get a little money, and other cool stuff. You can find the info here http://www.finaldraft.com/events-and-services/big-break/

I'm looking forward to it, I really want submit some stuff. I'm thinking of submitting two screenplays (The two i've discussed previously), if I can write 2 in a month. The due date is June 1st, so I'm thinking of starting right when school ends. It's not like I have a job, so I might as well put all my effort into writing.

Losing the fight against Laziness

Laziness is a very evil enemy of freedom. I have the freedom to do what I want, and all I can do is laze around and watch the TV. I haven't updated my site in forever, I had like 200 un imported pictures on my camera, and my kitchen looks like a stampede of people has run through it. Oh wait, one did.

But no more...which is exactly what I said last time, but this time I...well I guess I said that last time too. I am posting this blog, and i already went through my camera's pictures and posted them on Facebook. I also wished my Grandma a Happy Birthday, you should do that too.

I'll put another piece of writing on my site, but don't take this one so seriously. It's just my first attempt at a Fable. An attempt I failed, but it's pretty funny.

I really wanna try writing a feature film script. Even if it won't take me anywhere, I wanna have one under my belt.

I got two ideas, one is sci-fi, about a group of space truckers finding an old human battlecruiser, and they have to go on the run, to protect it from the tyranical cluches of the Rexters who want it destroyed for the secrets it carries.

The other is a simple fiction story about a writer who is reunited with his estranged teenage daughter, and she convinces him to use his knowledge of crime, from his novels, to solve a I crime spree that has attacked the city.

So yeah, loved to get right on all that...right after I clean this pigsty.

Midterms suck

It's true they do. And people who get all stressed out and bitchy over midterms suck even more. Some people take life way to seriouesly, and they should all die. Okay, maybe that's a little harsh. Maybe.

Yup, I'm back at school, and boom, test on my first day. No amount of studyign could help me pass that test. But it did give me a perspective on something.

There was a poem about a guy who loved a fairy, even though they literally could never be together. Like its a physical impossibility. Still he loved her, and it turnned out she loved him. So why can't a man love a man and a woman love a woman.

I'm not gay.

But I'm just saying, love isn't about sex. Sex and love are totally different things. Love is about needing someone, about having someone be your anchor, your "happy" in life. Love is willing to give your life just to know they are okay. Love is the want to protect someone, and cherish them. Sex is secondary.

One show that really showcases this is Farscape. The way John protects Aeryn, and vice-versa, it's beyond anything physical. Even more blatantly, the way Stark protects Zhaan. She's the fairy and he's... the weirdo in the mask. But yeah, you guys don't know what I'm talking about.

The reason why I was thinking about this, I think, is because I keep reading people writing on message boards that Ellen Page is gay (I'm not obssessed!!!). They all seem to think that if she wasn't, she'd have sex with them, but she's only interested in having sex with women. I don't think it works that way. You don't just wanna have sex with women. You can't ignore hormones. But maybe people who are homosexual meet the person they love, the person they want to spend their life with, and that person is of the same sex. Should it matter. Love isn't about sex, it's about happiness.

And catholics can go screw themselves. Good night.

(PS: Jellicles can and Jellicles do. Don't forget that.)

The future is Now

And now is the past! She was the writer of oen of the best movies of the year, Juno. Her writing is so unique, and original, and got her the Best screenplay Oscar. It's an inspiring tale.
